An overview of the different spa treatments one can receive-at a spa, or at home.

Everyone experiences a bad day every now and then, and relaxing spa beauty treatments can provide some relief. An individual can pamper herself with massages, facials, manicures or pedicures–her body and mind can receive much-deserved relaxation. There are a variety of spa treatments to choose from.

Body Spa Treatment

For radiant and soft skin, exfoliate the body regularly, whether at a spa or at home. Indulge in the traditional Dead Sea salt for exfoliation at a nearby spa. After exfoliation, a massage therapist can also apply sweet almond oil to the body to leave it feeling silky and smooth.

Perform some bodywork techniques at home with the influence of the Thai ritual–realigning the body by indulging in passive stretching movements. The individual should ask someone at home to wash her entire back with a warm, black, olive soap and remove the cleanser with a kessa glove. The kessa glove allows washing and exfoliating, while eliminating dead cells.

Manicure/Pedicure Spa Treatment

Clean, nicely trimmed nails hint that a person likes to keep herself well groomed. Maintain the nails with a manicure and pedicure, whether it is done professionally or personally. Simply shape the nails, then finish with attractive polish. Rub away any dead skin from the cuticle with a soft cloth. Gently push back the cuticle, if it is overlapping the nail plate at the base of the nail.

Hot and Cold Stones Spa Treatment

Many spas offer hot and cold treatments using hot stones and cold stones. The heat from the hot stone can relax your muscles and erase any stress, whereas the cold stone increases the blood flow and helps with detoxification.

The cold stone also helps with fluid retention, which is when the fluid is not removed from the tissues and causes swollen feet. The cold stone is massaged in to the feet to drain the fluids from the feet and minimize its swelling. An individual can try this drainage technique, if her feet are swollen.

Massage hands and feet with hot or cold stones to receive any of the desired benefits listed previously. The massage therapist should finish with a massage oil to give soft moisturized hands and feet.

Thai Foot Massage Spa Treatment

Use the Thai foot massage at home, which consists of filing and exfoliating the feet. Take a nail file and rub it swiftly back and forth against the tip of the nail to even the nail. Then exfoliate with a pumice scrub and intensive rescue heel balm to hydrate.

Facial Spa Treatment

Facial treatment methods may include exfoliation, toning or tightening of the face. To rid the eyes of puffiness or tiredness, soothe them with cool cucumbers retrieved from the fridge. Take a trip to the spa for facial stone treatments--hot stones are used to boost circulation and aid skin rejuvenation. Cold stones can assist with toning, decongestion and tightening of the skin.

Brighten and restore the face's luminosity with radiance boosting facial oil, radiant skin exfoliator and warming microbrasion polish. To decrease signs of aging, apply a collagen facial at home; use collagen products such as pro-collagen boosting mask and pro-collagen youth serum.

Availability of Spa Treatment

These treatments are available at a spa, or an individual can buy most of the products at a beauty store and apply them herself.
